There's a substantial body of research linking heavy screen use to anxiety, depression, and sleep disruption. Doomscrolling has validated scales. Digital detox interventions are well documented, but most of this work measures behavior from the outside, such as screen time logged, symptoms scored, usage reduced.
What interests me is the territory those studies leave largely unmapped: the interior of each person's experience. The phenomenological, somatic, and change-process questions that sit at the intersection of digital behavior, mental health, and genuine human motivation.
Contribute to Our ResearchThe goal isn't to challenge existing research but to expand the existing research. By bringing phenomenological inquiry, somatic awareness, and episode-based interviewing into the conversation, this work aims to create a richer, more integrated map of what digital overuse actually feels like to live, and what genuine recovery could look like from the inside out.
