Term: Short-term, fixed-scope project | September 13–October 5, 2026
Compensation: $400 total stipend for a maximum of 15–20 hours
The Mindful Tech Club is seeking a graduate-level Program Evaluation Consultant to help establish the evaluation plan for an upcoming 28-Day Digital Habit Shift Challenge with approximately 33 Gen Z participants.
The Mindful Tech Club helps people build healthier, more intentional relationships with technology so they can reclaim attention, energy, and time for the things that matter to them. This role is open to graduate students, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate-level professionals with experience or interest in digital wellness, behavioral science, psychology, public health, human-computer interaction, education, or program evaluation.
You will work directly with Sarah, founder of The Mindful Tech Club, to identify the most meaningful and participant-friendly questions to ask before, during, and after a 28-day digital-wellness cohort.
The Project
The 28-Day Digital Habit Shift Challenge will run from October 5–November 1, 2026 with approximately 33 Gen Z participants.
Participants will complete daily digital-wellness activities and reflections, meet with accountability partners, join weekly group coaching calls, and complete brief surveys before the challenge, at the midpoint, immediately afterward, and at one-, two-, and three-month follow-ups.
The aim is to evaluate potential changes in technology habits, attention, energy, intentional use of free time, accountability, social connection, and sustainable behavior change.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant will contribute a maximum of 15–20 total hours before October 5. Responsibilities may include:
Reviewing the program goals and identifying a focused set of evaluation priorities
Recommending practical, participant-friendly outcomes and survey questions
Reviewing or helping refine pre-program, mid-program, post-program, and follow-up surveys
Recommending relevant existing measures, response formats, or open-ended prompts
Helping minimize participant burden across multiple data-collection points
Recommending a simple, privacy-conscious system for organizing survey results and de-identified feedback
Creating a short evaluation-plan handoff document with recommended measures, question timing, data dictionary, and basic analysis guidance
Participating in 1–2 working meetings with the founder
Important Boundaries
This is an internal program-evaluation project, not an academic research study.
Participant data may not be used for coursework, a thesis, dissertation, independent research, publication, or presentation (at least at this time).
The selected consultant will not retain, share, publish, or independently use participant-level data.
Any public-facing summary will use aggregate findings, with participant quotes or identifiable information included only when explicit consent has been obtained.
The selected consultant will sign a confidentiality agreement before accessing any participant-related materials.
The Mindful Tech Club will manage all data collection, follow-up, analysis, and reporting after October 5, unless a separate paid agreement is made.
You May Be a Fit If You
Are a graduate student, doctoral student, postdoctoral researcher, or graduate-level professional. Undergraduate students are not eligible.
Have experience or strong interest in program evaluation, survey design, mixed-methods research, behavioral science, psychology, public health, HCI, education, or technology-and-society research.
Can balance useful, rigorous evaluation with a respectful and low-burden participant experience.
Can translate research insights into simple, practical recommendations for an early-stage community program.
Are organized, thoughtful, responsive, and able to complete a short project on a quick timeline.
Have experience with Google Sheets or Excel; familiarity with survey tools and qualitative or quantitative analysis is helpful.
Compensation
This is a fixed-scope project with a $400 total stipend for a maximum of 15–20 total hours of work between September 13 and October 5, 2026.
